LGBTQ+, Genderfluid, Nonbinary Affirmative Care
Expressing one’s true self can be challenging. Many members of the LGBTQIA+ community struggle with coming out and face judgment, making it difficult to explore and understand their sexuality and gender identity. Figuring out how to come out to your friends and family, worrying that you need to hide who you are to be accepted, or not knowing where to turn when you have questions can all be challenging. You may feel lonely, or like you’re being inauthentic, both of which may drive you toward unhealthy behaviors. We aim to provide you with the support you need to not just explore your sexuality, but understand who you are and more. Our goal is to create a safe space where acceptance and kindness are the standards, ensuring you have the support you need to feel confident in who you are.
LGBTQ+ affirmative counseling is designed to:
- Identify what you need to feel safe to come out to family members or friends
- Reconcile your sexual orientation with your beliefs
- Resolve the unique difficulties you may be experiencing, allowing you to become more secure in who you are and share your true self with those around you
